A Supervisor’s role as the lowest level of management is to interface between managerial and non-managerial staff. Management can be exercised over resources, activities, projects, and other essential non-personal things, while Leadership can only be exercised over people.

a) Key features of Supervision:
- Front-line manager:
Supervisors are the first line of management and are responsible for managing non-managerial employees and ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly. - Technical and operational work:
Supervisors often perform technical tasks and ensure that operational procedures are followed effectively. - Gatekeeper for communication:
Supervisors facilitate communication between upper management and non-managerial staff, ensuring that instructions and feedback are clearly conveyed. - Monitoring and control:
Supervisors continuously monitor performance and provide guidance to ensure that work meets the required standards.

b) Managerial skills beneficial to a leader:
