MR. ISAAC ADJIN BONNEY

Mr. Isaac Adjin Bonney is a Chartered Accountant, Certified Forensic Investigation Profession and a Chartered Public Finance Accountant and the Chief Internal Auditor of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Ghana since December 2021. Previously, he was with the Ministry of Inner-Cities and Zongo Development and it’s Fund (2019 to 2021) as the Head of the Internal Audit, he worked with the Ministry of Health for 8 years (during the period he was posted to Pantang Nursing Training College and Midwifery & Health Assistants Training School – Pantang) and rose from the rank of Senior Internal Auditor to a Chief Internal Auditor. He was also the Internal Auditor at the National Cardiothoracic Centre, Korle Bu from 2014 to 2019.

Prior to becoming an Auditor, he was a Business manager and Tutor at Morning Glory International School, Abidjan from 1998 to 2009. He also lectured full time at Graduate School of Management, Abidjan and part-time at Institut Britannique de Management et de Technology (IBMT-Côte d’Ivoire) and Institut Universitaire d’Abidjan (IUA).

A proud Bleoobi with the Bleoo 96 year group of Accra Academy. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Accounting Option) from Valley View University. He graduated from Valley View University in 2004, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and proceeded further in 2008 to pursue a master’s degree in Finance and Accounting at the British Institute of Management and Technology, Côte d’Ivoire. He has over eighteen (18) years of professional experience in accounting, internal controls, auditing, finance and taxation after my first degree. He is a member of various professional bodies like: Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG), Institute of Internal Auditors Ghana and Global (IIA), Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), International Institute of Certified Forensic Investigation Professional (IICFIP), Institute of Public Accountants-Australia (IPA), Institute of Financial Accountants-UK (IFA), Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA), Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and Institute of Directors-Ghana (IoD-Ghana).

Ike is the Coordinator of the District Societies of ICAG. A former General Secretary of Ga North District Society of ICAG and currently the Vice Chairman of Adentan District Society of ICAG. He is an examiner for ICAG. He has served as a member on 3 committees of the ICAG Council, Member Service Committee (MSC), Communication and Publicity Committee (CPC) and ICT Committee.

He served on the Board of Trustees for the Health Sector Occupational Pension Scheme (Tier 2 for all the Health Sector workers) from 2013 to 2016. He is the Chairman and member of the Audit Committee of the Tema General Hospital and the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) respectively; a former Chair of the National Board for Professional and Technical Examinations and a former member of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly Audit Committees. He is serving on the Governing Council of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Ghana and chairs the Chapter and Sector Relation Development Committee.

Isaac was appointed a member and now chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee of International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), which is responsible for advancing democracy worldwide, as a universal human aspiration and an enabler of sustainable development through supporting the building, strengthening and safeguarding of democratic political institutions and processes at all levels. The IDEA organization is governed by its Council of Member States. It is governed by its Statutes, the latest of which entered into force in November 2008. Membership in International (IDEA) is open to governments which demonstrate, by example in their own state, their commitment to the rule of law, human rights, the basic principles of democratic pluralism and strengthening democracy. Isaac happens to be the first Ghanaian to have earned such appointment.

Mr. Bonney is a Deacon at the Calvary Baptist Church, Adenta, the Association Coordinator for the Accra North Baptist Association Men’s Ministry, a former President of the Men’s Ministry of Calvary Baptist Church, Adenta, a former General Secretary of the Accra North Baptist Association Men’s Ministry, a former National Treasurer of Accra Aca Old Boys Association and the Global Treasurer of the Valley View University Alumni Association. Isaac is the Chairman for the Audit Committee of Calvary Baptist Church, Adenta and a member of the Finance Committee of the Ghana Baptist Men’s Ministry. At the level of the Ghana Baptist Convention, he sits on the Denominational Board sub-committee for Finance.

He is a speaker, also lectures and makes presentations on various subjects at Conferences and on social media platforms. He is married to a beautiful damsel, Mrs. Jeanne Christian Naadu Bonney, together we have been blessed with a daughter by name Ms. Elizabeth Naa Shedaa Bonney.
